Premier League giants Chelsea have opened talks with French midfielder N’Golo Kante over a new deal at the club.

The 27-year-old World Cup winner has been repeatedly linked with a move to French Champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).

N’Golo Kante was a key member of the France team that conquered all before them en route the 2018 FIFA World Cup title triumph courtesy a 4-2 victory over surprise finalists Croatia in their final clash in Moscow in July.

The news of contract talks with Kante would be music to the ears of Chelsea fans with moneybags PSG lurking around the corner.

The former Caen midfielder remains an integral part of the Chelsea squad under new manager Maurizio Sarri despite the fact that his role has changed to accommodate the arrival of Italian midfielder Jorginho from Napoli in the summer.

He has played further forward in the Chelsea midfield this term, while Jorginho now occupies the deep-lying role in front of the back four.

Kante joined Chelsea in a £32m deal from Leicester City in the summer of 2016 after he had surprisingly won the Premier League title with the Foxes.

He has won one Premier League title and one FA Cup title since he became a Chelsea player.
