In the past winter transfer window, different players were linked with moves to Manchester United, but none successfully pulled through.
However, it appears the United management are not letting go, as it was reported that they sent scouts to every of Benfica’s games to watch the trio of Nelson Semedo, Victor Lindelof and goalkeeper Ederson at their Portuguese club.
Victor Lindelof is one player that was heavily linked with a move to the Old Trafford club last January, but an agreement could not be reached between the two clubs despite that they’ve settled on a transfer fee.
His teammate Nelson Semedo also caught the attention of the club and the right-back has been linked with Man United in recent months. Semedo has been a creative force at his Portuguese club this season and has provided ten assists so far for his side.
And reports from the Portuguese media revealed that the red devils installed a scouting base in Benfica that are watching continuously the progress of the three stars.
A Portuguese news outlet A Bola, reported that United’s scouts have not missed a single Benfica match in the 2016/17 season as they consider swooping for each player in the upcoming transfer window.
It was added that the scouts were also present when Benfica won 1-0 away from home at Moreirense.
Victor Lindelof is expected to cost a minimum of £50 million before the Portuguese giants can let him leave. However, this wouldn’t be a problem to a club like Manchester United.
