Real Madrid are allegedly back in the chase for the transfers of either David de Gea or Thibaut Courtois, as reported by Marca.
Both Premier League superstars are thought to be the La Liga giants’ primary targets after failing in their bid to sign Athletic Bilbao goalie Kepa, who just penned a fresh deal with the side.
As cited by Marca, Manchester United shot-stopper De Gea has been a long-haul target for the Los Blancos, with BBC Sport even suggesting in 2015 that a switch was close to being sealed before negotiations broke down at the last minute.
It’s been crystal clear for some time that the La Liga Champions could do with a fresh top-class safe hand, with the side yet to really replace Iker Casillas in that in between the sticks.
Keylor Navas has been first-choice since legendary Spaniard Iker Casillas’ exit, but Spain international De Gea and Belgian Courtois are surely a level ahead of the Costa Rican international in that vital area.
Both players seem ambitious transfer targets, but the West London club’s safe hand will be in the last year of his Blues contract next campaign, while the Red Devils have offloaded big players to Real Madrid recently.
