Chelsea close to completing £45million double deal for Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri

According to reports, Chelsea are moving closer to completing a double transfer deal for AS Roma duo Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri.

As per Sky Sports, the reigning League champions will have to cough out more than £45million to secure the signature of the Bosnian forward and the Brazilian-born defender.

The same publication reveals that manager Antonio Conte is a huge fan of the former Premier League striker as Chelsea look to add further depth to their team.

As per the same article, the Blues want to land Palmieri to provide stiff competition for a left wing back position with Spain international defender Marcos Alonso.

However, Blues director Marina Granovskaia will have the last say on the proposed move as Chelsea look to complete their second and third winter signings.

The West London club are in the third position in the English Premier League table after a 4-0 victory against new boys Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.

The Blues have won the League title in two of the last three campaigns under Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho and Italian Antonio Conte.

Chelsea have been handed a tough UEFA Champions League last-16 encounter after they were pitted against Spanish La Liga outfit FC Barcelona.

They signed England international Ross Barkley in a £15million deal from Merseyside club Everton earlier in the month.
