Chelsea moved back to being seven points clear at the top of the premier league table after yesterday’s win against Southampton at Stamford Bridge before closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur play Crystal Palace.
The White Hart Lane have been a threat to the West London Club’s ambitions this current campaign, almost stopping Antonio Conte’s side from emerging to the FA Cup final last week at Wembley.
And while some thinks Mauricio Pochettino’s side are much deadly than Antonio Conte’s, Ray Wilkins is of the opinion that the Stamford Bridge club have been better than Spurs this term because of their lack of European football.
As the season approaches it end in the premier league, Chelsea Antonio are firmly in pole position to claim the premier league crown and Mauricio Pochettino’s men must respond in their London derby clash away to Crystal Palace.
And former Chelsea assistant Ray Wilkins, while hailing his former club, added that Spurs commitments to Europe duties this term has handed the blues a very big advantage in the premier league title race.
Chelsea won Southampton 4-2 following a brace from Diego Costa, and singles from the duo of Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard. Their next game in the English top flight is against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, where they could have a tough time stopping Belgium international Romelu Lukaku who has been in fine form this season so far.
