According to reports, Manchester City look set to complete the move of Chilean Alexis Sanchez from North London club Arsenal in a £44million transfer in the New Year.
Notwithstanding the Daily Mirror‘s recent reports that Paris Saint Germain had overtaken Manchester City as the Chilean’s favourite destination, it now seems as though City boss Pep Guardiola is sure he’s got his attacker.
This is as per Don Balon, who state that the Citizen’s have also seen interest lately from Spanish la Liga side Real Madrid in Alexis Sanchez, with the Gunners keen to sell their star player as he approaches the end of his Arsenal contract.
The former Barcelona man would be a free agent next summer, leaving the North London club in a tough situation in terms of replacing the forward.
Despite strong finances, the gunners stance to accept an offer from Manchester City makes sense if they are to stay truly competitive in the market.
Still, it seems a huge blow for Arsenal to lose Sanchez, 28, to one of their English Premier League rivals, particularly with Manchester City already looking very strong this term.
We’ll wait to see how the Chilean would fit into this present City side, with a lot of attacking players performing brilliantly for Pep Guardiola already this campaign.
