Chelsea Target Edinson Cavani Favours Premier League Move

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) hitman Edinson Cavani is in favour of a move to the Premier League if he decides to leave his current club this summer.

This is according to the publication from popular Italian transfer news portal Calciomercato.

Edinson Cavani has been linked with a move to West London giants Chelsea who might need to sign a new striker in the summer.

Chelsea have two major strikers namely Olivier Giroud and Gonzalo Higuain at the moment and their respective contracts expire this summer.

Giroud has few months left on his current deal with the Blues having joined the London club on an 18-month deal.

The French World Cup winner joined Chelsea from Arsenal at the start of last year and his contract is scheduled to expire this summer though the Blues have the option to extend his contract by one year.

Unlike Giroud, Gonzalo Higuain is on a six-month loan deal at Stamford Bridge having joined from Italian champions Juventus in January.

Chelsea have the option to make his loan deal permanent but that’s looking unlikely at this minute.

There are doubts over the future of the strikers at Chelsea and the Blues could be handicapped in their quest to sign a possible replacement like the aforementioned Cavani with a two-window transfer ban hanging on their head.

Apart from the Premier League, Edinson Cavani has also been linked with Italian Serie A with Inter Milan keen on a move for him.
