According to Chelsea former assistant manager Ray Wilkins, Chelsea billionaire Russian owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to make Belgium star Eden Hazard stay put at Chelsea despite all.

The Belgian is under contract at the west London club until 2020, and the Italian manager Antonio Conte is insisting that his side are not interested in selling Hazard.

La Liga giants Real Madrid have been seriously linked with the player in recent times. News from the Spanish media reveals that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has made Hazard a priority ahead of the summer transfer window, and has told the club president to bring the Belgian down to west London. The Real Madrid chief has reportedly sworn to do all he could to make Hazard come to the La Liga.

And Hazard too has sent a worrying message over his future at Chelsea when he insists that no talks on a new deal had been held.

However, Ray Wilkins is sure that club owner Roman Abramovich wants Eden at the club and added that the Russian is a big fan of the Belgian winger.

He added that considering the obvious that Chelsea are going to play in the Champions League next season, the club needs to keep their best players and also encourage the best to come in at the end of this season.

He believes Hazard is a world-class player and the Russian billionaire will try so hard to keep hold of him as long as he can.
