We are in the fourth day of the winter transfer market and Manchester United are yet to complete any signing. The Red Devils have been linked with many world-class players but they are yet to strike a deal for anyone.
The club are in dire need of a new centre-back as they’ve conceded many goals this season. The Old Trafford outfits have one of the poorest defensive records alongside Arsenal and Solskjaer is willing to find a long-lasting solution to his backline.
The Manchester United manager is heavily linked to the £95million move for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly as a way to bolster his defensive unit during the winter window.
The Senegalese centre-back is in wonderful form for the Serie A side and he’s getting interests from top European clubs including Barcelona, United and Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have also chosen to make move for Roma’s centre-back Kostas Manolas who is valued at €36million (£32.51million), that’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Greece international is no doubt one of the best defenders in the world and it’s surprising he commands a price tag that’s as low as £32.5m
The Italian media further claimed that the Red Devils could be forced to pull out of the race for Koulibaly’s services, should they get the assurance that the 39-cap international will end up with them.
It is uncertain whether the 27-year-old would love to join the Red Devils this month due to the fact that his place in Solskjaer’s won’t be guaranteed.
