French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) are said to be lining up a summer bid for Chelsea winger Willian.
According to the publication from popular media portal The Sun, the French capital club wants to capitalize on the current contract standoff between Chelsea and the player.
PSG had hoped that they could lure the 30-year-old Brazilian international to Parc des Princes as a direct replacement for the injured Neymar ahead of their crucial Champions League last 16 tie against a rejuvenated Manchester United side under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
PSG have to do without Brazilian superstar Neymar for the next 10 weeks following his serious foot injury.
Neymar broke his foot during the French giants’ French Cup win over Racing Strasbourg last month.
PSG progressed to the next stage of the competition with a 2-0 victory.
Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona also retain an interest in Willian having had several bids rejected for him at the start of this season.
The five-time European champions also wanted to sign him in the opening weeks of the January winter transfer window in a possible swap deal for winger Malcom but the transfer didn’t happen.
Chelsea see Willian as an important player for manager Maurizio Sarri and are reluctant to sanction his sale.
Willian joined Chelsea from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in a £30m deal in the summer of 2013.
