Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho is said to be mulling over his future at the club according to the reports coming out of the Spanish media.

The former Liverpool player has not had the best of time at Barcelona since his expensive transfer at the start of last year.

Spanish media outlet Sport claimed that the Brazilian international is seriously thinking about leaving the club just over a year after his transfer.

Philippe Coutinho joined Barcelona In January 2018 in a deal reported to be around €160m.

His transfer from Liverpool to Spain made him the third most expensive player in the history of football.

Only the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are more expensive than the former Inter Milan star.

The Brazilian has not been able to make the positive impact that he would have envisaged at the time of the transfer.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a return to Liverpool but it’s highly unlikely due to the manner of his exit from the club.

Coutinho forced his move to Barcelona as the Reds were unwilling to sanction his move to Spain.

Apart from Liverpool, he has been linked with clubs like PSG, West London giants Chelsea and former European champions Manchester United.

Coutinho wants a club that he’ll be the leading light, unlike Barcelona where Argentine superstar Lionel Messi is the star player.
