Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has promised not to allow Alexis Sanchez’s arrival at Old Trafford block Marcus Rashford from evolving into a great player.
The Old Trafford club signed Sanchez from Arsenal last week, and the player’s arrival will increase competition for places in Mourinho’s attack.
The former Barcelona man played his first game for the red devils last Friday when they clashed with Yeovil Town in the FA Cup. Although he wasn’t on the score sheet, he was still able to earn the Man of the match honour after full-time, and he proved he won’t have any difficulty adapting to life at Old Trafford.
A few days back, Jamie Redknapp publicly said he felt sorry for Rashford as the player will likely become a regular bench warmer at Old Trafford. He even asked the youngster to leave the theatre of dreams for another club that can guarantee him regular first-team actions.
However, manager Jose Mourinho insists Rashford will still have lots of opportunities to impress at his side.
The Portuguese tactician believes Alexis’ arrival is a blessing for Rashford – as the Chilean will be able to help the Englishman progress as a player.
Mourinho also said Marcus has ‘an amazing future’ and that he remains an important member of Manchester United.
