Manchester United star player Romelu Lukaku wasn’t part of the party that clashed with Everton on Sunday at Goodison Park, although his side managed to win the game without him.
According to manager Jose Mourinho, the Belgium international will be sidelined for the new week, but he is likely to be back for the game against Stoke City next Monday
Manchester United won Everton 2-0 on Sunday evening, and they are now set to host Derby on Friday for their next FA Cup game – but Lukaku won’t be available for the Friday game at Old Trafford.
The former Everton striker suffered a head injury during the weekend game against the Saints, but he is getting better.
Manager Jose Mourinho is hopeful the Belgian will get back to his feet very soon to participate in his side’s busy festive fixtures.
Speaking recently to newsmen, the Portuguese tactician said Lukaku’s injury is ‘nothing really important’.
He also added that the absence of both Lukaku and Ibrahimovic doesn’t mean there aren’t other players that can effectively play in the No. 9 position.
Man United beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park, thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.
Since the start of December, Lingard has scored six times in the premier league, just two goals behind Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
