Arsene Wenger makes strong prediction about club next season

Arsene Wenger is backing the North London club to challenge for the English top-flight title next term under their new boss.

Wenger stepping down in the summer

The French tactician is ready to step aside at the end of the campaign after almost 22 seasons in charge of the club.

Arsenal have severely struggled for consistency in the last few weeks and months and are prepared to have to settle for a sixth-position finish in the English Premier League.

Another season without Champions League football

The North Londoners are going to finish the season outside the top four for the second year running as the club have to settle for another season without UEFA Champions League football at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have not won the English Premier League title since their popular unbeaten success under Arsene Wenger in the 2003-04 season.

Club yet to name a successor

The club has not confirmed who will replace the Frenchman at the end of the current campaign, but the tactician seems to be confident that the present group of players has a bright future.

The North Londoners were hoping to seal their spot in the UEFA Champions League for next campaign by winning the UEFA Europa League, but they were knocked out by La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the last four last week.
