Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has picked Victor Lindelof and fellow central defender Chris Smalling for praise following their performance against Juventus in the Champions League game on Tuesday.

No thanks to Paulo Dybala, who scored after 17 minutes of the game in the first half to hand the Mourinho side their first Champions League defeat this season.

There is no doubt that the United defence were more commanding and they were able to absorb all the threats and attacks from the Italian outfit strikers.

Mourinho stated that it was the first time Victor Lindelof was playing in a game of such dimension and intensity; hence he deserves praise for the performance he pulled against a big team like Juventus.

He noted that his side were able to concede the only goal because they had not positioned well and that came also from the midfield.

However, he praised their performance for being fast and aggressive enough to dominate the space and most especially get Cristiano Ronaldo under control.

The Portuguese forward was stopped from scoring a goal despite fears by the former Chelsea boss that the Ronaldo will do all it takes to score at his return to the club.
