Premier league giant Chelsea may have a little relief in keeping Belgium international goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois this summer transfer window with AS Roma Supremo James Pallotta confirming that Alisson is close to joining La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Real Madrid wanted Courtois
The Chelsea goalie has been monitored by the La Liga side for several seasons and with his deal expiring in 2019 it was thought that this could be the summer window for them to eventually make their switch.
Keylor Navas is the present number one but with French boss Zinedine Zidane leaving the side it could mean the Costa Rican might leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
Courtois, 26, has spoken about potentially going back to the Spanish Capital of Madrid having spent 3 campaigns with Atletico Madrid and also having two kids who live in Madrid.
Madrid now want Roma star
However, that move to Spain might be put on hold at least for now with the AS Roma chief claiming that Serie A side Napoli won’t be signing their safe hand and that Real Madrid could be on the verge of completing the deal.
Pallotta said no, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to splash all his money when he was questioned by journalists working for arenanapoli.it if the Serie A side could bring in the shot-stopper.
