Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Argentine striker, Gonzalo Higuain, following reports that AC Milan are yet to tie a deal for the striker.

The Blues are believed to be looking to sign reinforcements to bolster their chances in the Premier League ahead of the new season following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri from Napoli in July.

The Italian who is known for his attacking philosophy is said to be keen on adding new faces to the side, and the arrival of Jorginho from Naples is also a sign of more things to happen at the Stamford Bridge.

Juventus are believed to be looking to offload some players from their attacking front following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid earlier this summer. With reports in the news that Higuain could be the one to move in order to free up space in their final third.

AC Milan was believed to have agreed to a loan deal with Juve for the signature of Higuain this summer and had beaten Chelsea to his signature.

However, Di Marzio has reported that Higuain is not pleased with the terms of the contract being offered by Milan, which has stalled the move.

It is understood that the Argentine wants a pay rise if he is joining a club that will not be playing in the Champions League next season. Meanwhile, AC Milan are preparing to offer Higuain a deal that will see him remain at the San Siro on a permanent deal after an initial loan deal.
