Manchester United ought to have signed a wide player before the closure of the summer transfer window, but they failed to do so. Now, it appears they are looking to utilise the upcoming January transfer window to sign one if reports in the media are anything to go by.
According to latest reports, the premier league heavyweights have the interest of landing Spain international and Espanyol left back Aaron Caricol Martin.
ESPN made it known that the red devils have taken some steps to ask about the possibility of securing the player’s signature.
It was also added that the Spanish club are resigned to losing the 20-year-old in the January transfer window.
Martin is a regular starter at Espanyol and he featured in many La Liga games for his side last season.
This season so far, he has also started every league game, and is evolving into one of the most important members of the club despite his age.
The report also made it known that the youngster’s impressive performances at the La Liga club have caught the attention of another premier league heavyweights – Manchester City. It is understood that Pep Guardiola intends bringing the player to Etihad to replace injured Benjamin Mendy.
Aaron’s current contract with his current club will expire in 2022, and it was said that Espanyol will only allow him leave if anyone can pay the $47million release clause in his contract.
