Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is ‘very close’ to moving to China this summer, according to reports.
The 31-year-old has been left out of action for most parts of the current campaign playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford which has sparked speculations that he is unhappy at Old Trafford and have received several offers from China and America to quit United this summer.
Reports in Spanish outlet Marca have it that Wayne Rooney has set his sights on leaving the Red Devils this summer in search of better opportunities and he is considering a move to China due to the lucrative offers on ground.
Rooney had earlier revealed his frustrations at his lack of chances at Old Trafford this season:
”Of course you want to play. You want to play every game. Sometimes that’s football and I’ve had to keep working and try to take my chance when called upon – according to metro.
“That’s what I’ve done. When called upon, I try my best to help the team.
“Would I like to stay? I’ve been at this club 13 years so of course I would but I want to play.
“I think football changes. You have different challenges in your career. This season I haven’t played as much as I would have liked to.
“But I’ve tried to help the team on the pitch and off the pitch.
“I haven’t thrown my toys out of the pram and made a big fuss of it but I’m a football player and I want to play football.
“The more I play, the more I feel I can help the team.”
It is understood that Jose Mourinho will allow Rooney leave United this summer and has even started to map out viable replacements for he English skipper
