Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has stated that his first choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel won’t be leaving the King Power Stadium amidst the transfer rumours ahead of the January transfer window, which opens on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
Speaking on the transfer rumours in his latest press conference, the Italian, who masterminded a surprising and an unlikely English Premier League (EPL) title for the Foxes last season, was quick to dispel the rumour as he was quoted as follows: “Kasper has a signature on the contract. We won’t sell Kasper until any circumstances. We don’t need money. No chance. Liverpool can win title without Kasper.”
Danish international shot stopper and son of EPL and Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel, has been linked with a move to Anfield after a hugely successful season with Leicester City. This season however, his team-mates have struggled to keep up with the lofty heights of last season with the former Manchester City goalkeeper kept out of play after being injured.
Although he has recently returned to play after injury and produce a fantastic performance ever since his return.
Liverpool on the other hand have been linked with some goalkeepers namely English international Joe Hart due to the continued uncertainty with their top two goalkeepers (Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius).
