Manchester United are plotting a £71million move for Torino forward, Andrea Belotti, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been tipped to leave the Serie A this summer, after drawing speculation from several clubs in Europe due to his goal-scoring feats in Italy.

Reports in Italian outlet Tuttosport claim that United boss Jose Mourinho has instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to tie up a deal for the forward in Milan.

The report also have it that Mendes have begun negotiations with Torino and has informed them of United’s plan to pay £71million which just falls short of the Belotti’s release clause.

It is understood that Mourinho has called the Italian forward to make his intentions clear and plans to beat other rivals to the striker’s signature.

Prior to this report, the Red Devils were reported to have failed in a £52.4million bid to lure Real Madrid forward, Alvaro Morata.

There are reports that Manchester United have shifted their gaze on Belotti and are all ready to meet the conditions to sign the forward to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the Old Trafford.

Torino president Urbano Cairo had earlier revealed that Andrea Belotti’s release clause only applied to the clubs outside Serie A, giving the likes of United, Chelsea and Arsenal an edge in the transfer pursuit.
