Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard believes Manchester United can make England happy this season by coming home with the Champions League.
The former England captain feels Man United manager Jose Mourinho has all it takes to steer the red devils to Champions League glory this term.
Manchester United won CSKA Moscow 2-1 on Tuesday evening at Old Trafford, thanks to goals from the duo of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford in the second half.
The Old Trafford club are through to the knockout stage of the tournament, finishing on top of Group A, after amassing 15 points from six games.
And Gerard, recently asked to predict which English club will go furthest in the European premier competition, named Manchester United with the belief that manager Jose Mourinho gives the club a small chance’.
Steven added that while a side like Liverpool looks better against other top sides in the competition, Jose can set a team up in any match and emerge victorious after full-time.
Also commenting on the issue, former Manchester United star player Paul Scholes, also believes Jurgen Klopp’s side are dangerous this season in the Champions League, but Jose’s influence gives his side a chance this term.
We look forward to the knockout stages, to see if any English club can stop the likes of PSG and Barcelona this season in the Champions League.
