According to Evening Standard, Premier League Champions Chelsea are disturbed that their Belgium international safe hand, Thibaut Courtois, may not pen a new contract at the side.
It’s widely believed that even if the West London club were to table him double his present wages, the goalie may not want to pen a new contract at the capital.
The goal keeper’s family situation also complicates issues as Courtois, 25, has two young kids who live in the Spanish City of Madrid with their mother. He is thought to be finding life difficult to not see his kids as frequent as he would love to.
With just 18 months remaining on his current contract and the goalkeeper refusing to start talks until the summer, it seems increasingly unlikely he will remain at Stamford Bridge for longer.
Real Madrid’s interest in Thibaut has been well written over the past few seasons and it’s Real who could take him back to Spain, Madrid, that he wanted.
Real’s pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea recently would suggest they’re still searching for another player in that role and in the Chelsea goalkeeper they have a comfortably player that can fill that requirement.
