Chelsea attacker Willian has said that the strength of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City so far this campaign presents a huge obstacle in the Blues’ bid to defend their English Premier League title.
Discussing Manchester City’s remarkable English Premier League run-in form, the Brazilian disclosed via the Evening Standard that City are making the title defence hard but believes they can still fight until the end.
The Brazil international winger, who is one of the several Chelsea players battling for a starting shirt in manager Antonio Conte’s squad every week, has confirmed that being champion makes the next season slightly tougher.
He said it is hard to play when you were League champion last term and to fight for the crown again as every side wants to win the Premier League, Champions Chelsea.
The wide man was a major performer for the Blues last campaign, netting 12 goals — the highest he has ever scored in one League season throughout his senior football career.
Willian has found playing time hard to come by this season though and has only played eight matches in all competitions, netting once.
The Chelsea star will be hoping to impress Antonio Conte in training, as Chelsea gear up to play West Bromwich Albion, Qarabag and then FC Liverpool in the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
