Manchester United have had a season to forget despite the club’s huge spending before the start of the campaign.
The Red Devils were able to lure Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea and Everton respectively in the last summer transfer window but José Mourinho’s men have fallen below their usual standard this season.
Though they are still in the running for FA Cup trophy, the team haven’t been too convincing in their overall performance throughout the season.
The Red Devils were surprisingly knocked out of Champions League by a less-fancied Spanish team Sevilla at Old Trafford last week, while they are 13 points behind Premier League runaway Champions Manchester City.
In his bid to improve his team ahead of next season, José Mourinho is considering making whopping €300m offer for Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Neymar in the summer.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but Mourinho is reportedly hoping to hijack the player’s speculated move to Santiago Bernabeu by spending big on his signature.
According to Spanish media outlet Diario Gol via The Express, United are also willing to render their £89m-rated midfielder Paul Pogba in the deal so as to convince PSG to release the striker.
Pogba’s form this season hasn’t been too impressive and Mourinho wants to let go of him so as to bring Neymar to Old Trafford.
The Brazilian has scored 29 goals plus 19 assists since he moved to Parc Des Princes last summer before picking up an injury.
