Liverpool star player Sadio Mane has picked up a hamstring injury while representing his country Senegal last weekend in their World Cup qualifying game against Cape Verde.
The talented player’s injury is coming at a crucial period when Jurgen Klopp need his top players to be fully fit, and the African star will be out of action for up to six weeks.
Mane won’t be playing for his side when they host Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United this weekend, and this will be a huge blow to the Merseyside club.
The Senegalese was very much impressive at the start of the season and was the one who filled the void left by Philippe Coutinho before the Brazilian was fully reinstated into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team some weeks back following his failed move to Barcelona during the summer transfer window.
His injury will, however, represent good news to Manchester United who are looking to continue their impressive run in the premier league and are aiming at getting all three points from the game.
Manchester United are topping the premier league table alongside Man City and are yet to lose a single game this season so far.
Apart from the Manchester United game, Mane will also be missing the match against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium, Liverpool’s next three Champions League fixtures – two against Maribor and another against Sevilla in Spain.
