Liverpool Swoop In To Battle Chelsea For Box-to-box Midfielder
It has been revealed that Premier League title contenders Liverpool and Chelsea are strongly interested in a move for Houssem Aouar and both clubs will have to go head-to-head to determine who will win his signature at the end of the day.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been in inspired form for his club in the new campaign.
Houssem Aouar is currently on the payroll of French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyon.
He has scored five goals and assisted four others in 17 games for Lyon in all competitions.
The interests of Chelsea and Liverpool in the young French midfielder was confirmed by renowned Journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi of French media platform RMC Sport.
Houssem Aouar has been largely productive for Lyon in both the league and Champions League competitions even from midfield.
He has scored five goals and made one assist in 13 French Ligue 1 matches in addition to three assists in four Champions League games in the new season.
Houssem Aouar could be a possible replacement for Brazilian international player and summer signing Fabinho.
The 25-year-old midfielder has not lived up to fans’ expectations at Liverpool and he has been linked with a transfer away from the club ahead of the January transfer window.
