Turkish giants Fenerbahce have reportedly been linked with a move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of the January transfer window scheduled to start as from January 1.
The England international player has less than one year left on his remaining contract with the Reds and it’s almost certain that the Champions League campaigners won’t be offering him a new contract.
Sturridge can start to speak with foreign clubs about a free transfer move as from the 1st of January.
The interest in Daniel Sturridge was reported by Turkish media outlet Hurriyet.
It was revealed that Fenerbahce will move for the former Chelsea and West Brom striker once they find a buyer for one of their forwards.
Fenerbahce want to sell Spanish striker Roberto Soldado when the transfer window reopens in the New Year and the club would make a move for Daniel Sturridge in the aftermath.
Hurriyet also disclosed that the Turkish top flight side will wait till the end of this season to sign the Englishman on a free transfer in the event that they are unable to find a buyer for the aforementioned Soldado.
Daniel Sturridge has been unable to nail down a starting place at Liverpool due to the presence of the famed forward trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
