Manchester City were heavily linked with Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred during the past January transfer window, and since the Ukrainian club chose not to sell him, Pep Guardiola’s side chose to cool their interest in him and are now focusing on Napoli’s Jorginho.
So, Jorginho has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium even before now.
However, there are new reports that the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have joined in the race for the player’s signature and are ready to snatch him away from City’s grips.
Jorginho was superb for Napoli this season and has caught the attention of the world with his impressive performances. He has evolved into one of the best midfielders in Europe and is valued at £60 million.
Although Manchester City are said to be confident of securing the player’s signature ahead of other suitors, his agent (Joao Santos) has made it known recently that the premier league champions face competition from three other English clubs – including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola has put pen on paper for a new deal at the Etihad Stadium after helping them to win the premier league.
Despite splashing lots of cash to strengthen his squad last summer, Guardiola is still ready to add more power to his team this summer.
