AC Milan star defender Leonardo Bonucci has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent times after he emerged as a target for premier league heavyweights Manchester United.
According to new reports, Man United boss Jose Mourinho has contacted the Italy international about a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.
The Portuguese tactician is reportedly keen on adding more power to his defense department by signing another superb defender. The likes of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly were severely hindered by injuries this season – which had an unpleasant impact on the team.
Jose is said to have identified Leonardo as an appropriate target to solve his defensive issues and has take some steps to bring the defender to Manchester United.
Bonucci joined AC Milan from Juventus last summer for €42 million but might leave the Italian capital this year.
It was made known that the Serie A side would demand a fee in the region of €40m for the defender, and that they won’t mind loaning him out to Old Trafford also.
The Italian superstar was strongly linked with a move to England last summer when he emerged as a target for Chelsea. He however ignored the Stamford Bridge club for a move to AC Milan
