Juventus chief Beppe Marotta has admitted that one of their longtime targets – in the person of Liverpool star midfielder Emre Can – is unlikely to join them at Turin this summer. This was made known by the Guardian’s Marcus Christenson.
The Germany international is entering the final year of his contract at Liverpool and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Turin over the summer transfer window.
There were speculations that Emre desires a deal that will see him being paid over £100,000 per week, but the Anfield club are not willing to pay him such a high amount.
However, the player himself has said earlier this year that the speculations about his contract negotiations with Liverpool are false and that it isn’t about money.
‘We have had a few good meetings and everything is fine. I’m happy with Liverpool.’ he said.
Juventus have already sold Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan and Dani Alves to Paris Saint-Germain. Also, Alex Sandro is being constantly linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea while Dybala too has been linked with a move away from the Turin club, with reports suggesting that the Serie A champions will sign Emre Can to replace Dybala.
However, Juventus CEO Marotta has declared that both Sandro and Dybala are not leaving, and there won’t be need to bring in Can.
