Juventus star player Alex Sandro has emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to the English top flight.
In a new development, news from England says the Premier League champions are ready to complete a £60m deal which will see the player become their first summer signing.
According to The Daily Star, Sandro’s club have buckled under the pressure from the Blues relentless pursuit of the Samba star.
It was added that the Stamford Bridge club have already agreed to terms with the Brazilian international which will see him get a significant pay increase at the club.
If Alex should eventually complete the switch to Chelsea, there will be plenty of competition at the wing-back position in Antonio Conte’s squad considering Marco Alonso’s superb performances in the just concluded campaign.
The Spaniard got us all surprised last season in the Premier League after excelling on the left side of Antonio Conte’s defence following his £17 Million move from Serie A club Fiorentina last summer.
It is left to be seen who Conte will regularly favour between Sandro and Alonso in his starting XI next season.
Sandro scored three goals and provided five assists in 43 games in all competitions to help Juventus win the Serie A and Coppa Italia.
The old ladies also lost 4-1 to Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Cardiff earlier this month.
