Arsenal teenager Joe Willock has signed a new, long-term contract with the North London giant.
The 18-year-old, who’s played five matches for the first team this campaign, has signed an improved, long-term deal with the Emirate club.
The young midfielder has been exciting to the eye, and develop over the months. He’s matured beyond his age and put in a particularly solid performance against Serbian side Red Star Belgrade on Thursday.
The starlet also played against BATE Borisov, Red Star Belgrade away and Norwich City during the Gunner’s nervy 2-0 win in the League Cup last week.
This week, the teenage sensation received a call-up to England’s Under-19 team for their European Championship qualifiers. Englands Young Lions face Iceland, Faroe Islands and Bulgaria in November.
The hot prospect is yet to represent England in anything more than friendly matches and this will be a good chance to show the stuff’s he’s made of.
It’s great to see the Gunners tying down these promising youngster. Willock has impressed immensely and it’s only proper that he should be rewarded for his work in the senior team this season.
He’s also played six matches for the reserves in English Premier League 2 this term, scoring once.
