Roberto Firmino

Merseyside giants Liverpool have been dealt a big blow on the injury front following the news that star forward Roberto Firmino will miss the upcoming Champions League clash with Spanish champions Barcelona.

The news of his absence for the Barcelona game was revealed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after his team had beaten Newcastle United away from home to secure Premier League summit.

According to him, Brazilian international Firmino will miss the Barcelona game and he’s also a big doubt for final league match of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Roberto Firmino was a big doubt for the first leg of the Reds’ Champions League semifinal tie with Barcelona last week but he was able to make the game.

The Brazilian played the final fifteen minutes of the game against Barcelona at the Nou Camp which ended in a 3-0 win for the Spaniards.

He missed the 3-2 win over Newcastle United at the St. James Park on Saturday evening.

Without Firmino, the Reds were able to get the win to take the league title fight to the last day of the season.

Liverpool substitute Divock Origi scored the winning goal for the Merseysiders shortly after coming on for star player Mohamed Salah who was subbed off because of a head injury.
