And according to new reports, the premier league heavyweights are closing in on a deal for him.
Jose Mourinho’s side are said to be confident of securing the Brazilian’s services in the coming days and they believe they won’t have to splash huge cash to get his signature.
Shakhtar Donetsk are demanding for the £52.5million release clause in the player’s contract before any business can take place. However, the Old Trafford club are reportedly hopeful of persuading the Ukraine club to reduce the fee.
It was made known by the Manchester Evening News that the player’s agent has travelled to England to thrash out the few remaining issues.
The South American star is currently on international duty with Brazil national team ahead of the upcoming World Cup in Russia, and he is expected to feature in their friendly game against Croatia this Saturday at Anfield. The Brazilian party will be in London for a couple of days before jetting out together for the tournament next month.
