As the January transfer window draws close, France forward Olivier Giroud has said he is happy to compete with any new signing and thinks he and Alvaro Morata can score more goals for the Blues.
The former Arsenal man insists he is not bothered by speculation Chelsea will seek to sign another striker in the January transfer window.
With Giroud and Morata not being able to score enough goals this season, the Blues have been linked with Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi, Serie A top scorer Krzysztof Piatek and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth to give competition to the current misfiring strikers.
Spanish International Morata has scored just six goals so far this season while his French counterpart has netted only once, and neither centre-forward has nailed down a place in the starting XI yet.
Giroud in an interview with a United Kingdom publication emphasized that speculations is part of the sport and it’s only important that good players and good strikers must play at big clubs. So in that regard he and Morata will continue to give their best to the club except the coach feels they are no longer relevant to his plans
The World Cup winner with France said he wasn’t worried about the future and that he was sure he would score more goals for the team.
