According to new reports, premier league champions Manchester City would no longer go after Gareth Bale this summer, giving Jose Mourinho’s Man United a free access to get the player’s signature.
The Wales international scored a brace that was enough to get his side the Champions League trophy on Saturday as they trashed Liverpool 3-1 at Kiev. The talented forward came from the bench to destroy the hopes of lots of Liverpool fans at Kiev.
After the win, Bale dropped a big hint that he could depart Real Madrid this summer. The Welshman appeared irritated with his lack of regular playing time under manager Zinedine Zidane at Bernabeu, and he made known his desire to play ‘week in week out’
After falling down the pecking order at Real, Bale told pressmen about his plan to ‘discuss’ his future with his agent before next season.
Manchester United have been linked with Gareth even before now and have tried bringing him over to Old Trafford on more than two occasions in the last decade.
In England, only Manchester City stood as a hindrance for the red devils, but that is now a thing of the past.
The Guardian made it known that Pep Guardiola’s side won’t be chasing the £100M-rated star and have given Mourinho’s side the chance to sign him with no issues.
