Former Liverpool man Jamie Carragher has urged Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to resign as club manager.

Pressure mounting on Wenger

The French tactician is coming under severe pressure at the Emirates Stadium following a terrible run of results.

The Gunners lost 3-0 to League leaders Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium last weekend following goals from Argentine forward Sergio Aguero, Belgium defender Vincent Kompany and Spaniard David Silva.

The North London giants welcomed the League leaders to their home on Thursday evening to provide them with an immediate opportunity to bounce back.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men eased to a resounding 3-0 victory at the Emirates courtesy of goals from Bernardo Silva, Spaniard David Silva and Leroy Sane in the first half.

Arsenal are in sixth position in the English Premier League log and 10 points behind fourth-placed Spurs with 10 matches remaining.

They have been pitted against Italian Serie A side AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 this month.

Wenger told to step down

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher pleaded with Arsene Wenger to accept that its high time he left Arsenal.

They finished in the fifth position in the League last season to miss out on a UEFA Champions League place.
