Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has ordered manager Jose Mourinho to sign Mesut Ozil at the end of the season.
Ozil is ready to enter the last six months left in his current contract at Arsenal, and will be out of contract at the club if he failed to put pen on paper for a new deal before the end of this season.
However, it appears the Germany international is no longer enjoying it at North London and wants to move to a club where he can win trophies.
Mesut looks unlikely to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium beyond the end of the current term, and will be allowed to begin talks with other clubs when January comes.
The former Real Madrid player has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Barcelona in recent times.
It was speculated that Barca have identified him as a cheaper alternative to Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho, since the Anfield club are valuing the Brazilian playmaker hugely
Ozil has been impressive at Arsenal in the last few weeks, and former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the best decision the German can make is to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford when he leaves Arsenal next year.
Rio hailed the player as one of the best in the premier league, and believes Mourinho – or any other manager – won’t miss the chance to get him for free next summer.
