Everton are set to host Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday in their next premier league game, and many predictions are flowing already.
Former Arsenal player Paul Merson believes the clash will end 2-1 in favour of Chelsea. He considered that Chelsea have been conceding goals in almost all of their recent matches, and since Everton got one of the best strikers in the premier league currently (in the person of Belgium star Romelu Lukaku), they should be tipped to score at least a goal – while Chelsea who have the better squad should collect the full three points.
Right now, former Manchester United forward Micheal Owen is giving a more specific prediction for the crucial game at Goodison Park.
Owen is not only favouring Chelsea to be the victors after the encounter, but he is also backing Chelsea Spanish forward Diego Costa to score for his side.
Owen is of the opinion that Costa has a good record against Everton, and reminded us that the Spaniard was also back to his best in Chelsea’s last game against Southampton.
Costa scored a brace in the last midweek game to take his tally to 19 goals in 30 games this season so far.
He has been linked with a big-money move to the Chinese Super League, and other strikers like Lukaku and Morata have been linked with the Stamford Bridge club to replace him at Chelsea
