One of the Ligue I players heavily linked with a move to the English premier league last summer is Monaco star player Tiemoue Bakayoko. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been heavily linked with a summer move to the Premier League following his brilliant form with his French club.
And as things stands now, according to latest reports, Chelsea have agreed a £35 million deal to sign the France international.
Last summer, after Chelsea, another top premier league club he was heavily linked with is Manchester United. Man United boss Jose Mourinho is yet to have a strong reliable defensive midfielder in his squad, and he is keenly interested in signing Tiemoue. Nevertheless, it seems his rival – Antonio Conte has beaten him to the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko for Chelsea.
A popular Italian new outlet Tuttomercatoweb insisted that the Stamford Bridge club have won the race to sign Bakayoko after agreeing a 35 million pounds deal. It is said that the talented midfielder will put pen to paper on a five-year contract and personal terms are already agreed.
If the report is anything to go by, then it means Man United boss Jose Mourinho have lost the battle to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea.
And on Chelsea’s part, this will come as a huge boost for them after they had their initial £32 million offer rejected by Bakayoko’s club – it however appears as if they have now got the player they want.
Tiemoue has scored three goals in all competitions for the French side this season and his contract at the club expires 2019.
