Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed reports linking midfielder Arturo Vidal to Manchester United.

The Chilean midfielder has been an impressive figure for the German giants since he joined them from Juventus in 2015 but has been linked with a move away from the club for several windows.

Manchester United are understood to be in the market for a midfielder in the mode of Vidal who possess both defensive and attacking qualities to consolidate the efforts of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera in the central area next season.

There are reports that Manchester United are considering an approach for the 30-year-old over the possibility of moving to the Old Trafford this summer as part of plans to add a new face to their midfield.

However, Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a move to United for Vidal, emphasizing that the midfielder remains part of their squad.

He said: ‘For Vidal, there is no way (he will move to United),’ the Italian said.

‘He’s our player and I have a lot of confidence in him.

‘I know there are rumours and we’re used to rumours. He’ll stay with us 100 per cent – I’m confident about that.’

Jose Mourinho is believed to be keen on signing either of Eric Dier or Nemanja Matic but sees Vidal as an alternative.
