According to Don Balon, Chelsea forward Eden Hazard allegedly reached a verbal agreement over a switch to Real Madrid few months ago but he is not sure about the transfer.

The Belgium international forward is believed to regret agreeing to the deal with Real as he’s now unsure about working under embattling Zinedine Zidane.

The Champions League winners are in a bad state right now and have failed in their bid to retain the La Liga title, while they also face a daunting two-legged clash against Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League.

Eden Hazard would surely be a superb signing to strengthen the side, as he could be a good long-term replacement for the ageing Cristiano Ronaldo up front.

Still, Don Balon suggest the 27-year-old is not sure Real Madrid will manage to sell the likes of Portuguese attacker Ronaldo or Frenchman Karim Benzema in to make room for him.

This development could be good news for the Blues, who will surely not desire to be losing their most prized asset to a major European rival.

Chelsea have endured a tough campaign season but will hope to re-group next term, possibly under the tutelage of a different coach amid doubts over manager Antonio Conte’s Chelsea future.
