Finally, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has confirmed that Manchester United would be able to sign one of his stars Antoine Griezmann this summer, only if they meet the player’s release clause.
Currently, there is no official price the Old Trafford club would need to squeeze out from their pockets. However, the amount is believed to around €100 million (which is £86.4m).
The France international on his part has recently insisted he would love to stay at the Madrid club. Reports however have it that the red devils are on the way to get his signature.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, speaking about the player’s future, confesses there is a chance that he could leave this fast approaching summer, as there is a termination clause and no security.
Recounting what happened last year between him and Griezmann, Diego revealed that the reason the player stayed at the club is because he (Simeone) chose to stay too
He added that from now on however, he do not know what can happen as Griezmann would never let him tell him (Griezman) to stay, concluding that he did not do it with either Costa or Falcao.
Griezmann, in a recent interview, has claimed that his future was not dependent on Simeone as he seems to be happy at his current club. Nevertheless, with Manchester United seemingly ready to do all they could to sign him, we are looking forward to how things will work out.
If Jose Mourinho should successfully persuade him to the club, Griezmann will definitely add more quality to his team as he is a superb talent.
