The sporting director who signed Luis Suarez is heading to Arsenal?
North London outfit are yet to secure a new sporting director after the exit of Sven Mislintat from the club some weeks back.
It is claimed that manager Unai Emery is bent on having a new one at the club ahead of the summer transfer window as they plan to participate actively, especially if they are able to gain a promotion to the Champions League next season.
However, the Gunners are reportedly paying attention to French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta as a replacement for Sven Mislintat.
Andoni Zubizarreta has been popular with his achievements right from when he was with Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona as he signed Jordi Alba, Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar for the club.
There is no doubt that he would be a good addition to the North London outfit especially now that it has been hinted that he is ready to work with manager Unai Emery.
Arsenal made efforts to snap up Monchi when he was leaving Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma but he turned down the offer as he joined Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla some weeks back.
Former player Marc Overmars was also linked but he would not be allowed to leave Ajax.
