North London giants Arsenal confirmed that goalkeeper Bernd Leno is the side’s second summer recruit.
The Premier League giants agreed to a deal with the player’s former side and the Germany international safe hand is now the Gunners first team shot-stopper for next campaign.
Goalkeeping reinforcement was necessary
Arsenal conceded a total of 60 goals last season, a figure which might have led to the side bringing in a new goalkeeper and the arrival of the German means the likes of David Ospina, Petr Cech, and Emi Martinez will be reduced to the bench role for the entirety of next campaign and some of those above-listed goalkeepers might be offloaded this summer.
Leno has played in 304 matches for German Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen since joining from German side Vfb Stuttgart back in 2012, keeping a total of 100 clean sheets.

This figure wasn’t enough to earn Leno a place in Germany manager Joachim Loew’s FIFA World Cup team but fans will have to wait to discover if he makes it into the national team’s squad since he’s now an Arsenal player, undoubtedly a much bigger side than Bayern.
Along with Bernd Leno, the Gunners have also managed to complete the signing of defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and are billed to announce Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos on the 1st day of July.
