Liverpool Star player Dejan Lovren believes the incident that occurred on Saturday between him and Manchester United star player Romelu Lukaku was something the Belgian striker did on purpose.
Lovren also slammed the former Everton striker for refusing to send an apology across to him after the incident.
Like Lovren, many people feels Lukaku actually stepped on the Liverpool player intentionally and that it was not an accident at all. However, the Belgium international won’t face any further action as the FA has decided not to punish him for the incident that came up during the 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Liverpool.
But despite the FA’s decision, Dejan blasted Romelu after his foot clearly touched his face during the game.
Speaking about what happened between himself and the United forward ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Maribor this week, the defender said he expected Lukaku to have moved away, adding that his ‘honest view was he [Lukaku] did it on purpose’.
The Croatian player, however, added that he respects and accept the FA’s rulings and that he will hold no grudge after the incident with the striker.
“It is over and nobody can change it now.” Lovren said.
The defender will now put all his attention on their next Champions League group stage game against Maribor, and will hope his side will get all three points from the encounter.
