Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly in an intense battle for Belgian midfielder Carrasco who is set to end ties with Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang this month.
Meanwhile, the two Premier League giants could be in another transfer tug-of-war for Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi at the current transfer window.
United had already shown interest in the Algerian midfielder, according to the Mirror, but the Gunners are now set to join the race for the player’s signature.
The most intriguing part of the story is that both clubs stand equal chances of getting the 28-year-old without paying any amount to the Portuguese giants.
This is because Brahimi’s contract with Porto is set to expire by the end of the ongoing campaign and will become a free agent.
This made United and Arsenal intensify their respective desires to capture the Algerian midfielder this month or latest in the summer transfer window.
Apart from Arsenal and United, the British media also suggest that Merseyside club Everton are equally in the race for the player’s signature.
Everton, who signed top attack-minded players prior to the start of this season and are looking at the prospect of luring the impressive midfielder to Goodison Park this month or in July.
It is also said that the Toffees sent their scouts to spy on his performances for Porto and they were excited with the feedback.
Meanwhile, Porto are equally trying to avoid losing Brahimi as a free agent as they are doing all they could to make him commit his future to the team.
