England national team legend Wayne Rooney has drummed up support for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi who’s bidding to earn his first cap for the Three Lions in the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro.

Rooney told Sky Sports that he would like to see Callum Hudson-Odoi in action for the Three Lions of England.

Ex-Manchester United and Everton player Rooney plays his club football for Major League Soccer (MLS) club DC United at the moment.

Wayne Rooney is eager to see the impact of the next generation of England players including Callum Hudson-Odoi.

He also talked about West Ham United defender Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Young Chelsea winger Hudson-Odoi received his first call-up to the England national team on Monday following the withdrawals of several players.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) and the Manchester City duo of John Stones and Fabian Delph pulled out of the England squad earlier this week ahead of the aforementioned games against Czech Republic and Montenegro thus paving the way for Hudson-Odoi.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been frustrated with the lack of playing time at Chelsea and that has prompted intense interest from German champions Bayern Munich who tried and failed to sign him during the January transfer window.
