The Gunners team are making efforts to solve their defensive crisis via the summer window and manager Unai Emery seems to have turned his attention on Mario Hermoso as the solution to his problem at the back.
It has already been reported that the Gunners boss has instructed the club to secure the signature of a top-class central defender and he has rated Mario Hermoso in that category with the expectation that a deal would be sealed as soon as the summer window is opened.
The 23-year-old defender started his senior football career at the Spanish capital with Real Madrid before joining Espanyol in 2017. He has since been impressive and has been monitored by the Arsenal boss for a move.
Mario Hermoso has got a good defensive skill which adds to his ability to distribute the ball accurately from the back, a quality that would be needed to help the Arsenal team push more attacks in the coming season.
However, talks are expected to be opened in the coming weeks for negotiations between the two parties.
